A webinar on Cyber Security Profession: Need of the Hour held

Mohali (Pawan Garg) : Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, near Chandigarh organized a webinar on “Cyber Security Profession: Need of The Hour”. Mr. Makarand Wagh Ex Law Enforcement Officer & Digital Fraud Investigator & Co founder & Director of Macans Cyber Clinic Pvt. Ltd interacted with the faculty members and Aryans students of Engineering, Law, Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, B.Ed and Agriculture. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the webinar.

Mr. Makarand Wagh while interacting with the students said that in today’s digital world Cyber Security is the need of everyone. There are hackers who find new ways to attack digital assets everyday & security of valuable data is most important concern. There is a hacker attack every 39 seconds & 43% of cyber attacks target small business.

Mr. Wagh gave major emphasis on that, new threat vectors & attack techniques demand new approaches for cyber Protection. Cyber security issues are becoming a day-to-day struggle for businesses. Recent trends and cyber security statistics reveal a huge increase in hacked and breached data from sources that are increasingly common in the workplace, he said.

Mr. Wagh further shared more information about types of cyber attacks, types of malicious extensions & explained that the worldwide information security market is forecast to reach $170.4 billion in 2022. As over 15 billion devices are connected to internet, it is predicted that there will be around 3.5 million cyber security job openings in near future. Approximately $6 trillion is expected to be spent globally on cyber security by 2021, he added.

Mr. Wagh also gave a valuable guidance to students that if any students want to experience life and work in other countries, a career in cyber security might just be your passport to success, opening the door to exciting international career opportunities from Africa, Asia and Australia, to mainland Europe, Canada and the USA.
