AAP's Punjab RS nominations disappointing: Khaira

Kejriwal's interference will further weaken Punjab
Chandigarh, (Gurpreet) The five nominations announced by Aam Aadmi Party from Punjab on Monday are not only disappointing but has a clear stamp of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Congress MLA from Bholath and former Leader of the Opposition Party (LOP) Sukhpal Singh Khaira made the aforesaid remarks while interacting with the media.
Khaira said he was under the impression that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann would ensure some prominent personalities from Punjab in the upper house of the parliament so that they could effectively take up the various issues pertaining to Punjab.
However it appeared that by nominating Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak, Ashok Mittal, Sanjiv Arora and Harbhajan Singh the newly elected chief minister of Punjab has completely surrendered the interests of Punjab.
It may be recalled that when ND Gupta and Sushil Gupta were nominated from Delhi for the Rajya Sabha a number of AAP senior leaders including Ashutosh, Kumar Vishwas and Ashish Khaitan had quit the party without specifying any particular reason as they were too much disappointed with Kejriwal's move. The same thing happened today with Punjab as well.
Khaira said at that time allegations were levelled against Kejriwal that he had nominated Guptas because of their power to donate huge sums of money to the party.
Khaira said if Bhagwant would allow Kejriwal too much to interfere with Punjab affairs it would be a huge disrespect to the massive mandate AAP has received in the state.
