Adviser declares Chandigarh Tennis Tournament open
Chandigarh, (Aditi) The Adviser to the Administrator, Chandigarh Sh. Dharam Pal declared open the Chandigarh Open Tennis Tournament for Boys & Girls under 14 & 17 years at Lake Sports Complex, Chandigarh and also inaugurated the re-carpeted synthetic courts.
The tournament has been revived after 2019. This would give excellent platform to young talent in honing their skills. The Lake Sports Complex can boast of its Tennis facilityas it comprises 4 grass, clay and synthetic courts each with flood lights facilitating world class training and competition for tennis.
The strategic location of sports complex at water-front and in lush-green environment is much sought after facility by tennis fraternity. Around 100 tennis players are participating in this tournament which will be held from 23rd August to 26th August 2022.
The tournament has been annual feature of Sports Department, UT Chandigarh but due of Covid-19, the tournament could not be held in 2020 & 2021.
Sh Sanjay Tandon, Chairman, Sports Advisory Committee, UT Chandigarh, Sh S S Gill , Secretary Sports, Sh Sanyam Garg, Director Sports,, Dr. Sunil Rayat, Joint Director Sports,, Sh. Rajiv Tewari, Director Public Relations, Chandigarh also graced the occasion and encouraged the participating players.
