MANN OFFERS PRAYERS AT IDGAH OF MALERKOTLA ON EID-UL-FITR, EXTENDS GREETINGS TO THE PEOPLE OF PUNJAB
SAYS, NO STONE WILL BE LEFT UNTURNED TO ENSURE HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT OF MALERKOTLA
Malerkotla, (Global News) Giving a stern warning to the anti-social elements trying disturb the peace and harmony of the state, Punjab Chief Minister on Tuesday said that anything can be planted in the fertile land of Punjab but not the seeds of hatred and his government would not spare anyone involved in nefarious attempts at weakening the strong social bonding amongst the people of the state.
Addressing the gathering after offering prayers at local Idgah on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Bhagwant Mann said that Eid is a festival which makes humanity to feel the pain of others and this sacred festival symbolizes universal brotherhood, peace and amity.
Ensuring a comprehensive and all-round development of Malerkotla, the Chief Minister said that no stone would be left unturned to develop required infrastructure in the newly formed district. He said that the last government had just given district status to Malerkotla but lot is to be done to make it a district in a real sense. He said that he was well aware of the needs of Malerkotla and development of education and health infrastructure in the district would be given top priority.
Conceding the demands raised of local MLA Mohd. Jamil Ur Rehman, Mann assured that this historic city would not face any shortage of funds till the entire development process is completed to the satisfaction of its residents.
Reiterating his government’s commitment of regaining the lost glory of the state, the Chief Minister said that during the 46 days people of the state have witnessed his government’s initiatives to provide clean and transparent administration besides creating enormous job opportunities for the youth. During this time, where corruption has been eradicated, a successful campaign has been launched to free the government land from illegal possessions.
Urging the people to give their government at least some time to perform, Mann said that his government has been implementing every commitment made to the people of the state in letter and spirit, and his cabinet has already approved massive recruitment drive to fill 26,454 posts laying vacant in various government departments besides giving approval to amend the Act to give MLAs of Punjab State Assembly only one pension regardless of the number of terms served. He said that AAP government is committed to spend every penny from the state treasury on the welfare of the people.
Assuring that his government will break the tradition set by previous governments for registering false cases against their political opponents, Chief Minister said that previous governments have done nothing but mercilessly plundered the resources of the state. “These people are still not satisfied after looting the state for years after years. But now the people have their own government. Money will be taken back from the looters along with interest”, he added.
Earlier, Mohd. Jamil Ur Rehman, MLA Malerkotla welcomed the Chief Minister and raised the long pending demands of the city.
Prominent amongst others, Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra, MLA Amargarh, Mufti-e-Azam Hazrat Moulana Mufti Irtaka Ul Hasan Kandhlvi, Mohd. Aslam Bachi, Ravi Bhagat, Special Principal Secretary to CM Punjab, Mukhwinder Singh Chhina, IG Punjab Police, Jatinder Jorwal, Deputy Commissioner, Alka Meena, Senior Superintendent of Police, Sukhpreet Singh Sidhu, Additional Deputy Commissioner were also present on the occasion.
