Chandigarh (Aditi) To spread awareness among the people regarding drug abuse and illicit trafficking Media Club of Desh Bhagat University organized an event on Friday. Unalome Dramatics Club Performed a one-act-play named ‘NASHA IK BIMAARI’ on the occasion. Chancellor of the university Dr. Zora Singh congratulated the performers for intriguing performances, he said that the theatre is the most effective medium for conveying a social message.
In The Play performed by Unalome Dramatics Club, by performing Punjabi folk theatre Bhand Maraasi in realistic theatre form the actors given a message of how an overdose of a drug can ruin the lives of many families. In the play written and Directed by Rohit Kumar ‘Tabish’, Film actor Kavi Singh played the lead role as ‘Jeet’ big brother of the victim, Upma Played the role of Jeet’s wife and Kabir Played the role of Prince. whereas Rinku Chauhan, Tabish played the roles of Bhand Marasi Characters.
Giving details of the Event spokesperson of the university said that the event was started with lamp lightening and then after a musical performance of Dr. Sanjiv Soni.
Dr. Zora Singh further said that it is important for young people to understand how drugs can have a bad impact on society. Dr. Tejinder Kaur praised the Unalome Dramatics Club and their performance. Vice-Chancellor of the university Dr. Salini Gupta motivated the students to aware of the people of the society on these topics.
