CHANDIGARH, (Aditi) : The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Shri Banwarilal Purohit on the eve of Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru called upon the people to follow the teachings and path shown by the great Guru who made a supreme sacrifice for preserving the rich values of humanism, secularism and unity of mankind.
In this message, the Governor said that Guru Ji un-paralleled sacrifice would ever act as the source of inspiration to all of us and the future generations.
The Governor observed that the momentous compilation of Adi Granth Sri Guru Grant Sahib by Guru Arjun Dev Ji, is an eternal source of knowledge and wisdom, guiding humanity to create a society based on the principles of peace and prosperity for all.
Lauding the preaching of Guru Arjun Dev Ji, the Governor said his martyrdom was for the protection of dharma and righteousness. He appealed to the people to observe the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji in the spirit of traditional amity and human brotherhood.
