BBMB Celebrates it’s Raising Day

Chandigarh(Gurpreet): Bhakra Beas Management Board was constituted with the

merging of Beas Projects to Bhakra Management Board on 15th May 1976.

Since 1976, this day is being celebrated as BBMB Raising Day every year

on 15th May. But Due to COVID-19 pandemic BBMB celebrated it’s 44th

Raising Day on 4.7.2020 at BBMB, SLDC complex, Chandigarh by

following all norms of social distancing. Every year BBMB celebrate its

raising day on one of its project stations.

Sh. D.K. Sharma, Chairman, BBMB in his address gave brief

description of works being done by BBMB. He congratulated BBMB

employees for their exceptional diligence & dedication to the cause of

nation building. He also highlighted recent achievements & initiatives taken

in BBMB. He further said that during last year, BBMB has not only

exceeded CEA energy generation targets but also satisfactorily catered to

water requirement of North India.

On this occasion, for their excellent work done during the year 2019-

20, Chairman, BBMB awarded 45 officers and officials of BBMB at

Chandigarh with Medals and Appreciation Letters. Due to COVID-19,

Medals were distributed in 4 different shifts. Only 10-15 officers /

employees were awarded in each shift.

Sh. Harminder Singh, Member, Power, Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Chief

Engineer, Transmission System, Sh. B.S. Sabherwal, Chief Engineer,

System Operation and other senior officers and employees of BBMB were

also present on this occasion.
