BCCI approves facilities worth One crore rupees to UTCA on the onset of domestic season

Chandigarh: With hosting of 66 matches for the upcoming BCCI's domestic season 2023-24, UTCA is all set to gear up. Even though the host have shown excellent performances in the previous seasons, lack of basic infrastructure in the stadium with wet ground and adverse weather conditions made the UT team paid the heavy price in table tally. But this time UTCA’s President Sanjay Tandon managed to meet their pending demands by maintaining excellent coordination with BCCI’s Secretary Jay Shah. The BCCI has approved aqua soakers worth around Rs 14 lakhs to UTCA for this season to dry the ground. Along with this, the BCCI has also approved a triplex outfield mowing machine costing about Rs 50 lakhs for grass cutting and two walk behind mowing machines costing about 25 lakhs for the grass cutting purposes. UTCA will also get two ground covers worth 22 lakhs soon to prevent the pitch from getting wet.
Expressing happiness over this development, UTCA President Sanjay Tandon said that these equipment will help UTCA to give better results this season. It was impossible to start the match on wet conditions mars by rain and cold weather, but by using these equipment, we can anticipate the match’s result. He said that in spite of this, UTCA, which came into existence in the year 2019 as an associate member, performed exceptionally well with available limited resources.
