CAPACITY BUILING AND TRAINING WORKSHOP ON STREET FOOD HYGIENE INDHARIWAL

Chandigarh (Gurpreet) Capacity building ,training and health promotion Intervention package for empowerment of registered street vendors under DAY-NULM was organized
for two days i.e. 19 th and 20 th July ,2021 by the PGIMER Chandigarh in collaboration with Municipal Council Dhariwal with the aim to upgrade the knowledge about health and safe food hygiene practises during COVID-19.
Inaugurating the session, Executive Officer of Dhariwal Mr. Arun Kumar and
Mr. Ashwani Kumar Duggal (President) welcomed the PGIMER team .He drew
the attention of the street vendors on present scenario of COVID-19 and
importance of Cleanliness. Program Manager Mandeep Kaur from PGIMER
presented a session on food safety and Personal hygiene, Tobacco Cessation
and Preventive measures during COVID-19 .Community facilitator Mr. Ravinder
Singh from ULB presented session on waste management. DAY-NULM staff
delivered a lecture on Micro credit and financial schemes for economic
upliftment and to help resume their business after COVID-19. Street Vendors
were provided certificates of participation and food safety kits free of cost
which included Mask, Apron, Gloves, head cover and honorarium for attending
these training sessions. The training was organised following COVID -19
appropriate behaviour. Total Street vendors participated in the training were
80.
