Chief Minister Punjab partakes in second day of Ram Katha at Punjab Raj Bhavan

Chandigarh, (Gurpreet) : On the second day of Shri Ram Katha at Punjab Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Shri Bhagwant Mann attended the programme as the Chief Guest and lit the ceremonial lamp. The Governor of Punjab, Shri Banwarilal Purohit welcomed the Chief Minister with flowers. Kathavyas Sant Pravar Shri Vijay Kaushal blessed the Mann by presenting him a shawl.

Expressing his views, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that, “I am fortunate that I was invited to Shri Ram Katha. The occasion reminds me of those bygone days when people of my village used to sit together and watch the telecast of Ramayana on television. In Ramlila Ground, we used to reserve the seat by marking bricks so that Ram Leela could be seen up close. He said that the entire life of Lord Shri Ram is exemplary; we should follow his teachings.”

While reciting the Ram Katha, Kathavyas Shri Vijay Kaushal Maharaj narrated the inspiring story of the Devotee-God relation. He said that God is not to be searched, He is to be invoked; sincere heartfelt invocation is the sole way to reach out to God. He also narrated the story of Dhanna Jat and said that due to the love and devotion of Dhanna Jat, God Himself came to his assistance and worked as a laborer for him. He said that God can be pleased only through love and devotion.

He enchanted the audience with mesmerizing bhajans.

On this occasion, Additional Solicitor General of India, Mr. Satpal Jain, Chairperson Punjab Womens Commission Manisha Gulati, Punjab Chief Secretary Mr. Anirudh Tiwari, DGP Chandigarh Mr. Praveer Ranjan, former IAS Mr. Suresh Kumar and other dignitaries from Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana attended and listened to Shri Ram Katha.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will be the chief guest of the Katha on April 25.
