DEMAND NOTICE TO CS & DGP SEEKING REGISTRATION OF CASE AGAINST SONS OF UNFORTUNATE MOTHER
Chandigarh (Ramanjit Singh) Punjab & haryana highcourt lawyer hari chand has sent a demand notice to the Cheif Secratary & Director General of Police Punjab seeking registration of case under various sections against sons of unfortunate mother. In his notice he has clearly stated that he propose to file a case in the Hon’ble High Court in case he do not get some positive response from CS & DGP side within one week from today.
He has stated in his notice that I am enclosing two news reports, along with photographs of story published in news papers, and which caught head lines of various electronic channels of the Region for last couple of days. An 82 year old mother/grand mother has been pushed into jaws of death by neglect, cruelty and humiliation by her sons, who are stated to be quite resourceful and well to do persons. One son, Rajinder Singh Raja, a prominent member of a political party (SAD 9Democratic) retired from a good job. She was kept in a “ghurnI” made of bricks, which was just of two and a half feet height. Normally, one would make/construct a better “ghurnI” than this one shown in the picture, for keeping a dog there. She was found there in a naked condition. Insects were eating into rear side of her head. A social activist, Sanjiv Kumar Tinku, (of Salasar Sewa Society) reportedly found her lying there in unconscious condition, on August 15th,and with the help of Police, managed to get her admitted in a Government Hospital, from where she was referred to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot. Subsequently, she succumbed to death.
In my considered opinion, the mother has been pushed into jaws of death by her sons, who were supposed to maintain and look after her in this old age. Criminal case under Section 304-A IPC read with Section 24 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007-is liable to be registered against her sons. They deserve to be prosecuted .
Advocate has therefore demanded that Criminal case under Section 304-A IPC read with Section 24 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, be registered against the two sons of this unfortunate mother/grand mother/senior citizen of age of eighty two years, and they must be prosecuted in some Fast Track Court.
