Chandigarh (Aditi) . The Government of India has constituted a Panel of 70 lawyers for conducting the cases of Army, Navy and Air Force before the Armed Forces Tribunal, Regional Bench Chandigarh.
Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India and Ex BJP MP informed that the panel consists of 34 Senior Panel Counsels and 36 Central Government Counsels. All the Counsels appointed as Senior Panel Counsels are having a minimum 10 years practice. Out of the 70 appointments, 43 are new appointments. According to him, out of 70 Lawyers, this Panel contains 20 lady advocates. This Panel will be valid for 3 years w.e.f. 6 April, 2021.
Mr. Jain said that all these Lawyers will be paid the fees for conducting Government of India cases as per the Fee Structure laid down by the Ministry of Law and Justice.
It may be mentioned that the Government of India has separate panels of lawyers for the Punjab & Haryana High Court, Armed Force Tribunal, Central Administrative Tribunal as well as various District Courts & Tribunal in Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh, all of which work under the overall supervision & control of Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India.
