CHANDIGARH, (Aditi) : The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri V.P. Singh Badnore expressed his profound grief over the untimely passing away of one of the first professionals, Dr. B.S. Chavan, Director Principal GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh after a brief illness. In his condolence message, the Governor described, Dr. Chavan as a dedicated doctor whose presence and involvement has been felt in all our COVID Preventive Strategies despite his illness. He worked till the last minute, when he was hospitalized.
The city will always remember him for his outstanding contribution in the field of mental health and rehabilitating the persons with disabilities, said the Governor. He was instrumental in starting a community outreach programme for mental illness and substance abuse including community-based indoor detoxification camps.
The Governor prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
