Havan Yag performed instead of burning effigies,Satya Pal Jain was the Chief Guest

Chandigarh (Aditi) The Nav Dussehra Committee, Sector 43 today celebrated Dussehra by performing Havan Yag, instead of burning the effigies of Ravan, Kumbkaran and Meghnath.

Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Ex MP and Additional Solicitor General of India was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Jain said that the Nav Dussehra Committee Sector 43 is continuously celebrating Dussehra at this place by burning the effigies of Ravan, Meghnath and Kumbkaran every year for the last 25 years. He said that this time also, like the last year, because of Corona, it was decided that the Dussehra be celebrated by performing Havan Yag at the same place in Dussehra ground, since it was not possible to hold big gathering and burning the effigies of Ravan, Kumbkaran & Meghnath.

Mr. Jain said that burning of effigies is a symbol of burning evils in society. He said that performance of the Havan Yag also burns the evils and purifies the atmosphere. Therefore, in view of the Corona pandemic, Havan Yag also is a good alternative of burning the effigies.

On this occasion Saravshri G.K. Girdhar, Dr. Rajesh Mittal, Sh. G.S. Thind, Sh. D.K. Singh, Sh. Pradeep Puri, Sh. A.D. Rajput, Mrs. Preeti Verma, Mrs. Anamakia Walia and Sh. Ramesh Nikku were also present.
