HC notices to Punjab Government and Baba Farid University
CHANDIGARH (Ramanjit Singh)- HC notices to Punjab Government and Baba Farid University, in writ petition filed by Multipurpose Heath Workers (Male) employed in Subsidiary Health Centres under Zila Parishads
In a writ petition filed by Gurpal Singh and four other Multipurpose Heath Workers (Male) employed in Subsidiary Health Centres under Zila Parishads, the HC Bench of Justice Tejinder Singh Dhindsa today issued notices for 8.12.2020 to State Government (Department of Health and Family Welfare) and Baba Farid University, Faridkot.
The grievance of the petitioners is that in regard to recruitment of 200 posts of Multipurpose Heath Workers (Male) advertised by Health Department in August, 2020 (through BFU, Faridkot), the MPHWs who are working in Health Department, are being awarded one mark each for each year of experience (with maximum of 10 marks), but such additional marks for experience were not being awarded to petitioners, whose experience is of Subsidiary Health Centres, which are functioning under Department of Rural Development and Panchayats. The petitioners stated that presently, with effect from March, 2020, due to Covid-2019 situation, the Government of Punjab has ordered all Para Medical Staff of Subsidiary Health Centres, which are functioning under Department of Rural Health and Panchayats, to work under the respective Civil Surgeons of Health Department. Thus, the petitioners can not be discriminated, and for the purpose of grant of additional marks for experience on the job, they have to be treated at par with other MPHWs working in the Health Department.
