Chandigarh-(Aditi) The Punjab & Haryana High Court has directed Chandigarh Municipal Corporation and Chandigarh Police to ensure that no unauthorized activity continues on V-5 road of Sector-45-A, Chandigarh:

In a PIL filed by Super Residents Welfare Association, Sector 45-A, Chandigarh seeking, inter-alia, removal of all unauthorized activities from V-5 Road between AKSIP School to Traffic Light Point of sector 33/45, a Division Bench of the High Court, comprising Chief Justice and Justice Arun Palli today issued directions to Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, and Chandigarh Police to take expeditious steps to ensure that no unauthorized activity is permitted to continue on the aforesaid portion of the road in Sector-45 A, Chandigarh.

With the aforesaid PIL, filed by Super Residents Welfare Association, Sector 45-A, Chandigarh, through its Vice-President (M.L. Kalra) and its General Secretary (Arvind Badoni), the petitioners had enclosed a number of photographs of activity of vehicle-repairing, kabadee work, and car-parking being carried on the above said internal road of sector 45-A, Chandigarh, thereby virtually blocking the vehicular movement on the said road. Besides, such work creates noise and environmental pollution. It also creates hurdles into smooth entry of residents into their own houses, as the customers , who visit shops in the area, park their vehicles in the residential block. The vehicles of visitors continue to be parked on the pedestrian path also, thereby causing serious inconvenience wven those who have to pass through this area on foot.
