IHCL ADDS ANOTHER INTERNATIONAL DESTINATION TO ITS PORTFOLIO WITH THE SIGNING OF TWO NEW HOTELS


MUMBAI, (Global News) : Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, announced the signing of two new hotels in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Taj and Vivanta branded hotels will be a part of an integrated complex that will also include hi-end retail. These are Greenfield projects.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL said, “We are delighted to debut in Dhaka adding an important international destination to our portfolio. Bangladesh, one of the fastest growing economies in the world is also the second largest economy in South Asia. Its close proximity and cultural affinity to West Bengal with significant IHCL presence makes it a strategic association. We are delighted to partner with Borak Real Estate of the Unique Group, one of the largest business conglomerates in Bangladesh.”

The first mixed-use development project in Dhaka with the two hotels, is strategically located at Gulshan, a key business hub in the city and at a short driving distance from the Shahjalal International airport. The 230 room Taj and the 130 room Vivanta hotel will offer multiple new culinary options to the city. Both the hotels will feature All – day -diners and bars and in addition the Taj will feature two speciality restaurants, a roof top bar and a Deli for on- the- go meals. It will also house large banqueting spaces, and recreational facilities including a pool, spa, gym and health club. The Chambers, Taj’s exclusive business club will launch its first outpost in Dhaka.

Dhaka lying on the Ganges delta is a major port braided with four rivers. The capital city of Bangladesh is also the cultural and economic hub of the country. The ancient city with its rich heritage is an amalgamation of the old and the new.
