KBDAV - 7 NSS VOLUNTEERS LEARN SELF-DEFENCE, TRAIN IN ART

Chandigarh (Aditi) Day 2 at the NSS Camp started with a lightning activity as Mrs. Preeti from the Swayam Team of Police Lines Sector. 26 arrived at KBDAV Senior Secondary School, Sector. 7 - B, Chandigarh and imparted training to the volunteers in self-defence training. She gave an enlightening lecture on how to defend oneself against attack of any sort. She also cited examples from her experience as a trainer, which mostly involved innocent girls as victims. She guided the girls to be confident, alert and agile when they know they are alone in the crowd, or travelling. She displayed several techniques to give it back to the person trying to outrage a girl's modesty.

To add colour to the day, Mr.Harminder Singh and Mr. Sachin Lohan, the Art and Craft teachers from the School gave a beautiful practical experience to the volunteers in how to create beautiful flowers out of the ordinary things found around, like a broomstick, paper napkin, copper wire and a tape! The volunteers loved this art and wanted to learn more.

The day left behind a life-long lesson for the volunteers in self-defence, and art and craft.
