Milind Soman runs Gillco marathon


Chandigarh , (Aditi) : Gillco Group’s second ‘Run For Health’ Marathon was led by Milind Soman, a famous fitness enthusiast and Bollywood actor who ran 21 km for the marathon across the Punjab Tricity. The event saw massive pre-registrations and a crowd turn-up of over 1000 people committed to a fit and healthy routine. Gillco Group has always endorsed maintaining a well-balanced and active lifestyle and previously organised many initiatives to foster similar values. The idea of the ‘Run For Health’ marathon was pioneered by Tejpreet Gill, MD, Gillco Group, which took place on 5th February. There was great enthusiasm for the event, which showed in the massive footfalls it gathered. The marathon started from Chandigarh’s Sukhna Lake.

Renowned names, including Shri Amar Singh Chauhan, an Ultra Marathoner with over 100 marathons under his belt and numerous awards, including a lifetime accomplishment medal for fitness. Saurav Kapoor, a Chandigarh Distance Runners (CDR) member, the city's largest running club, directed the race. Gaurav Karjee, an influencer, attend the event as well. Jogging for nearly five years, he's become extremely well-known and has received awards for his dedication to fitness.

Adding to the list, Hon’ble CM Shri Bhagwant Mann’s better half, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, also joined the marathon as an integral part. She facilitated the best performers of the marathon and motivated the attendees and everyone else to lead a healthy life. Dr. Kaur is a gold medalist who remains politically active in support of the initiatives launched by the honourable Punjab Chief Minister and the AAP government. She has diligently dedicated herself to empowering women and making India a development leader.

“There was no loss of energy among the youngsters who participated in the marathon in huge numbers even after running for several hours. This is the gold standard of dedication level that will eliminate indolence from our lives and drive us towards the path of fitness. Even the middle-aged and elderly generations were not behind. They also participated in the marathon and gave their best efforts. Because of them, the Run For Health Marathon is a success,” said Mr. Tejpreet Gill, MD, Gillco Group.
