OVER ₹14,000 CRORE RELEASED TO FARMERS


Chandigarh, (Gurpreet) The Punjab Government led by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a smooth and hassle free procurement of wheat crop for all the stakeholders in the ongoing Rabi Marketing Season (RMS). As proof of this, under the guidance of Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak, certain innovative measures have been undertaken such as implementing Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) entailing installation of GPS devices in trucks to track their movements besides issuing the online gate passes.

Disclosing this, an official spokesperson further said that as on April 26th, payments worth Rs. 14687.52 crore have been released to the farmers and total procurement amounts to 93,95,891.95 Metric Tonne (MT). Out of this, the Government agencies have procured 9045721.95 MT and traders have procured 350170 MT.

Pungrain (Central Pool) has procured 2062893.65 MT, Markfed 2330641 MT, Punsup 2100165.50 MT, PSWC 1508809.65 MT, FCI 277310 MT, DCP (Only Pungrain) 765902.15 MT.
