The Investigation of the Cooperative Department scam should be conducted by a High Court judge:- Kumari Selja

Chandigarh. The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee and former Union Minister, Kumari Selja said that the investigation of the Cooperative Department's scam should be conducted by a sitting judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. No agency of the BJP-JJP alliance government can reach the conclusion of this scam. Because such a large scam cannot happen without the protection of those in power, and so far, no names of those sitting in power have been revealed by the vigilance. In a statement released to the media, Kumari Selja said that the scam of the Cooperative Department has been meticulously executed. Initially, the vigilance estimated it to be over 100 crores. Upon investigation by a High Court Justice, the amount involved in the scam could increase several times. Because the vigilance does not have the capability to interrogate those individuals in the state government who were continuously protecting the scamsters. She said that only officers and employees cannot execute such a big scam on their own. Only a thorough investigation will reveal who from the BJP-JJP alliance was continuously involved in this scam. The way reports of records going missing from districts are coming, it is clear that the scamsters were receiving full protection from those in power at every step. When the records of the Cooperative Department from Karnal and Panipat districts from 2021 to 2023 are missing, similarly, no records after 2022 are found in the Sonipat district. Records of Panchkula and Ambala districts from 2016 to 2022, Fatehabad from 2014 to 2018, and Sirsa till 2020 are found to be incomplete. The former Union Minister Kumari Selja said that it is evident from the absence of vouchers, ARD, profit and loss account, balance sheet, ledger, and trial balance documents that the scam was executed under a well-thought-out plan. The investigation of the scam involving more than 100 crores of the Cooperative Department was supposed to be done through government audit by the state government, but due to some external pressure, the government did not proceed with the file for investigation. So that the names of those sitting in the government are not revealed in the scam, hence no investigation was carried out even by a private CA firm. Making an excuse for not finding a competent CA agency, the investigation was not allowed to proceed. Kumari Selja said that when the state government wants to suppress the case in this manner, then only an impartial investigation under the chairmanship of a High Court Justice can be done.
