Chandigarh (Aditi) Himachal Pradesh Sunny Grack and Chandigarh Anuraj Sibia clinched top position in the men’s 31-40 years category of the 21.1km and 10km, respectively, in the Tuffman Chandigarh Half Marathon that started from Capitol Complex in Chandigarh on Sunday.
Over 1800 runners in various age categories participated in the run.
Sunny completed the half marathon in one hour and 35 minutes to clinch the top position. He dedicated his win to tennis great Roger Federer.
Sunny was closely followed by Amit Birwal, who took just 51 seconds more to complete the run.
Surender Singh finished third with a timing of one hour and 37 minutes.
In the men’s 10km run, Anuraj Sibia clocked 00:39:45 to grab gold. He was followed by Ravi Katreand Vikram Bali.
Chandigarh Mayor Sarabjit Kaur flagged off the half marathon, while British Deputy High Commissioner, Chandigarh, Caroline Rowett flagged off the 10km run.
