Web Based Application Module Of Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee Inaugurated

Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC), a regulatory body to enforce all the environmental Acts and Rules within the UT Chandigarh, gets the web based application module of CPCC inaugurated by Chairman, of the Committee Sh. Nitin Kumar Yadav, for random and surprise inspections of industrial units by the officers of the Committee. The main purpose of the application is to streamline the process of inspections and make it more transparent in terms of enforcement of Environmental Acts and Rules. The main features of this application include automatic allocation of inspections to the officers of CPCC which rules out the possibility of manipulations in the inspection, Real time GPS tagging of the industries, Equal distribution of work among the officers of CPCC, Timely disposal of the cases and Better transparency and Accountability of the work of CPCC.

In addition to it, a review meeting of Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee, Department of Forest and Wildlife and Department of Environment was also taken by Sh. Nitin Kumar Yadav. Presentations were given on various activities and achievement, various issues faced and future plan of actions by the respective department officials followed by detailed discussions.

The Department of Environment also apprised that they have developed 'Climate Change Dashboard' to identity Vegetation Index, Urban Heat Island and Land Classification in the City based on Climate parameters. The Secretary suggested that more awareness about this should be spread among masses.

Sh. T.C. Nautiyal, Chief Conservator of Forests and Member Secretary, CPCC, Sh. Arulrajan P, Conservator of Forests, concerned officials from Municipal Corporation, Engineering Department, CPCC, Forest and Environment department were also present during the review meeting.
