Celebration of 52nd Anniversary of Society/Institution for the Blind, Sector- 26, Chandigarh



Chandigarh: Society for the Care of the Blind, Sector. 26 Chandigarh celebrated it’s 52nd Foundation Day on May 6th 2024 in the premises of the ‘Institute for the Blind’. The spirit behind the celebrations is love, devotion and the spirit of service to the Institute, which is doing yeoman’s service in the field of education for differently abled children. During the celebrations, cultural activities were performed by the visually challenged students and the alumni.

The Society is engaged in education and rehabilitation of visually handicapped children since 5th May 1972. The management of the school and the staff under able leadership of its eminent senior officers of Chandigarh Administration, and the staff are consciously working hard to achieve the ideal aims it has set for itself.

It was very heartening to note that all the students having passed out from its Institute are either undergoing higher studies or are well settled in their lives. The Society is laying very strong foundation for the children to build their careers.

The Senior Vice President informed the gathering that visually handicapped children, though lack sight but not the vision. As the motto on their logo "Aspire to Achieve" the students can dream high and achieve anything in life. He wished them all the best of luck in their future. He expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Society to the alumni who gifted toys and seesaw to the tiny tots and the guests who were present there on the occasion and appealed to the public in general to come forward and join hands with the Society to promote its cause towards welfare of the society in general. He expressed his deep sense of appreciation to employees, executive committee members and volunteers who have carried out their duties with diligence and commitment. He looked forward to their continued support & cooperation.
