Centre abandoned states and citizens amidst crisis, says Rana Sodhi

Asks is this the way of making india Atamnirbhar

Chandigarh (Gurpreet) : Castigating the centre for woefully failing to prepare for the second COVID wave which had wrecked widespread devastation across the country, Punjab Sports, Youth Services and NRI Affairs Miniter Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi said the onus is on Government of India to tackle the situation in coordination with all states be it any party government in any state.

Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “dropping the ball in state’s net", the Cabinet Minister said that the COVID-19 situation has gone completely out of control and the Union government has abandoned the states and citizens literally on their own. He quipped, Is this their way of making the states and the citizens really 'Aatmanirbhar'?

In an press statement issued here today, Rana Sodhi alleged that the union government completely failed to understand or to tackle the pandemic, right from the beginning, despite repeated suggestions of experts and other countries.

Urging Punjabi Diaspora to come forward with helping hand in this hour of crisis, the NRIs Affairs Minister said that our Prime Minister patted his back while boasting about winning the COVID wave a bit too early, adding that these cheap publicity manoeuvres have exposed the central government with people gasping for breath in want of paucity of oxygen, beds in hospitals and vaccine shortage.

Once a proud pharmacy of the world, now the situation had arisen that our nation is totally dependable on foreign aid for medical supplies. Has India become Vishwa Guru?”, Rana Sodhi questioned.

The Cabinet Minister said that such boasts sound foolish as case loads and deaths have begun to spike exponentially in India. Hospital beds are running woefully short and so are vaccine doses, he said.
