Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 (IMI 5.0) campaign will be conducted across the country


Chandigarh: As per directions of Government of India, Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 (IMI 5.0) campaign will be conducted across the country during the months of August, September and October this year. During these three rounds, children of 0-5 years age group and pregnant women, who have missed any dose of vaccine as per National Immunization Schedule (NIS), will be vaccinated.

The Government of India is committed to achieve the target of Measles Rubella Elimination (MR Elimination) by December 2023 and Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 program is a major step to achieve this goal. Every state/ UT, has been given a target of 95% for both MR doses (MR1,MR2) and 2 per lac population for Non Measles Non Rubella (NMNR) Discard Rate, by GOI. Chandigarh has already achieved 103% (MR1), 95%(MR2) and 6 per Lac( NMNR Discard Rate) .

As a part of preparation, a State Level workshop of medical officers/ LHVs was held at GMSH 16 under the guidance and supervision of Director Health Services. Health facilities level training of all health workers have also been completed in UT Chandigarh. Secretary Health would be assessing the preparations. Head Count Survey is already going on in UT Chandigarh wherein health workers are going House to House to find out any children or pregnant women who have missed any dose of vaccine. After that a micro plan will be prepared to vaccinate these beneficiaries in special immunization camps during the months of August( 7th-12th ) September(11th-16th) and October (9th-14th) 2023. Each round will be of six days. This time Vaccination data of each beneficiary will be uploaded on UWIN online portal .

Chandigarh has already achieved 100% target in UWIN implementation and all Immunization Centres have successfully adopted UWIN portal where the system has been fully digitalised. Now parents can book vaccination of their children online and avail this facility at any centres in UT Chandigarh. Health Department Chandigarh requests residents to get their children vaccinated and protect them against Vaccine Preventable Diseases. Immunization services for children and pregnant women are available at all Govt hospitals and HWCs in UT Chandigarh.
