Mohali (Pawan Garg) : The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2020 has now been postponed to 22nd August 2020. The test shall be conducted through online, centre-based mode. The last date to apply online for this test has been extended to July 10, 2020.
CLAT was first announced to be held on May 10 which was postponed to May 24 and then on June 21. The development has been made by the Consortium of Law Universities in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The exam will be conducted by National Law School of India University, Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru for the admission in 2020-21 in 22 National law universities (NLUs) and 52 affiliated Law colleges & Universities in India.
The new CLAT pattern will have comprehensive questions on English, current affairs, etc. The number of questions has been reduced from 200 to 150.
CLAT 2020 application withdrawal
Candidates who do not wish to appear for the CLAT 2020 entrance exam can withdraw their applications by July 10, 2020. The fees of these candidates will be refunded after a deduction of Rs 400 for SC/ST candidates and Rs 500 for other candidates as a processing fee. Refund will be reflected by July 18, 2020.

Kataria thanked the CLAT committee for making Aryans the part of CLAT & permitting them to use CLAT Score for its admissions. Kataria further thanked the students and staff for taking the law college to such a top position in a short span of time with their efforts made in academics, innovations etc.
Kataria further added that in North India, Chandigarh has emerged out as the most preferred destination for the students of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, J&K etc.
CLAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria:
For undergraduate programmes (five-year Integrated Law Degree), an applicant must pass a 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of a 45% marks for all categories except for SC/ST categories in which case the applicant needs to have 40% marks. There shall be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer for both UG & PG.
For a post-graduate programme (one year LLM degree), an applicant must have LLB degree with at least 55% marks. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories need to have 50% marks in LLB degree.
