‘People of Chandigarh no longer trust the false promises of BJP’: Dr. SS Ahluwalia

Chandigarh: The promises made by BJP to the people of Chandigarh were never fulfilled. The promises made by BJP MP Kirron Kher to the people of Chandigarh before becoming MP were not fulfilled, said Dr. SS Ahluwalia, Chairman Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board and co-in-charge of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Chandigarh.

Dr. Ahluwalia said, “During the last two Lok Sabha elections, BJP secured votes every time by making false promises to the people of Chandigarh. Now the residents of the city have come to know the truth of the false promises of the BJP and the residents of the city do not believe in the false promises of the BJP.”

Dr. Ahluwalia said that BJP had promised the city residents before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections that after the formation of the BJP government, paid parking would be abolished in Chandigarh on which BJP MP Kirron Kher never paid attention and spent 10 years making false promises. Now when Mayor Kuldeep Kumar, after becoming the Mayor of India Alliance in Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, passed a proposal to make the parking spaces of the city free, the BJP is stopping it from being implemented, so that the common people cannot get the benefit of it.

He further said that BJP had made many false promises to the people of Chandigarh during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, which have not been fulfilled till date. A promise was made to open separate colleges for boys and girls in Manimajara. BJP had promised to make Chandigarh drug free and build a new stadium of international standards in the city. BJP never showed seriousness in fulfilling these promises and only made false promises to the city residents.

He said that BJP had promised that playgrounds would be built in all the wards of the city. Employees recruited on contract will be confirmed, government employees will be given houses. Regular changes will be made in the houses and housing scheme will be implemented for the tenants. All these false promises were made by BJP to the people of Chandigarh during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

He said that BJP had promised to run mono rail in the city, which turned out to be a false promise. Promises to settle issues related to the Chandigarh Housing Board, to allow first floor booths, to provide free Wi-Fi in all markets and to give priority to Chandigarh residents for jobs in the city remained only on paper. The promise of putting power lines underground also turned out to be false.

Dr. Ahluwalia further said that BJP is deceiving the people by making false promises, the people of the city have now completely understood the fake face of BJP and the city residents are also yearning for basic amenities. In the Lok Sabha elections, the people of the city will completely wipe out the BJP from Chandigarh and will send India Alliance candidate Manish Tiwari to the Lok Sabha by winning with a huge vote, he added.
