SAD Chandigarh unit standing like rock with the party: Arshdeep Singh Kler

Chandigarh:: Shiromani Akali Dal Chandigarh unit party leaders today strongly condemned Hardeep Singh Butrela for misleading people by claiming the party unit had left the SAD with him and said that the entire rank and file of the UT unit was standing like a rock with the party and would abide by any decision taken by party President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Addressing a press conference here today, SAD Chief Spokesman Arshdeep Singh Kler and senior leaders Karnail Singh Peermohammad and Harjit Singh Bhullar said the party’s candidate from Chandigarh - Hardeep Singh Butrela had wrongly claimed that the entire party unit had resigned from the SAD with him. They said those who had left with Butrala were the latter’s personal friends and did not hold any post in the party. The leaders also disclosed names of different wing Presidents to media who were all present in SAD head office today.

The leaders said only those parties like the SAD which stood on principles could benefit the people. They said similarly opportunist leaders like Butrela could never become loyal to the people whichever party they might join. They said it was unfortunate that Butrela had become part of a sinister campaign being carried out in the country to woo leaders from the other parties and this trend had started in Chandigarh too as the ruling BJP wanted to weaken the SAD Akali which always talked about rights of Punjab and Punjabis. They said this conspiracy would never succeed and SAD would continue to work for the rights of the State as a regional party.

Responding to different queries, Advocate Kler said that AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal had established a different precedent in the country which had no parallel in the history. He is the first Chief Minister who despite being in Jail has shown no morality to resign from the post. He said Kejriwal used to make tall claims on morality but all these claims had fallen flat.
