WORK WHOLEHEARTEDLY FOR CEMENTING THE TIES OF COMMUNAL HARMONY, BROTHERHOOD AND PEACE IN THE STATE


Ludhiana: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday called upon people to work wholeheartedly for cementing the ties of communal harmony, brotherhood and peace in the state.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating Sri Radha Gopinath Mandir here today, the Chief Minister said that it is a historic occasion as this newly constructed temple is being dedicated to the people for inspiring them to work hard for the service of humanity. He said that this is the need of the hour that every individual must rededicate themselves for the welfare of people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that all the people have gathered here for a noble cause aimed at the well being of the people.

The Chief Minister said that the social bonding in the state is so strong that any seed could grow on the fertile land of Punjab but the seed of hatred will not germinate here at any cost. He said that Punjab is a sacred land of great Gurus, saints and seers who have shown us the path of mutual love and tolerance. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjabis have always opposed tyranny, injustice and oppression by cementing the bond of love and harmony.

Lauding the Concerted efforts of ISKON society in disseminating the spiritual knowledge to society, the Chief Minister said that it helps in imbibing spiritual techniques in order to check the imbalance of values and life to achieve real unity, peace and harmony. He said that India, especially Punjab, is a land of fairs and festivals which symbolizes the ethos of ‘Unity in Diversity’ besides showcasing its rich cultural legacy and glorious heritage of the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann called upon people to promote the message of love, peace and brotherhood amongst the people irrespective of caste, colour, creed and religion.

Extending good wishes to the people on the festival of Dusshera, the Chief Minister exhorted them to raise their voice against the myriad evils that are ailing the society, in the collective spirit of the message propounded by the festival. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this festival was symbolic of the ultimate victory of good over evil, which remains at the core of the Indian ethos and spirit. He said that in line with this festival the state government is duty bound to wipe out the evils like corruption, unemployment, drugs and others from the state.
