Chandigarh: Today a special program on Drugs de-addiction was organized by Brahma Kumaris at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. Shri Banwari Lal Purohit, Governor Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh inaugurated the drug de-addiction campaign as the chief guest of the event. The main objective of this program is to take Punjab and Chandigarh towards de-addiction. This program was organized on the third memorial day of Bhai Amir Chand ji, former director of North Zone of Brahma Kumaris.
Shri Banwari Lal Purohit said that the law, police and BSF on the border are doing their work diligently to stop drugs in the society, but also spirituality and Dharma can do the work of bringing awareness and consciousness among the people. He appreciated the efforts of Brahma Kumari organization whose services are dedicated to the public welfare are doing it exceptionally well.
Sh. Purohit recalled how he quit tobacco use in his life and narrated how his family and gurus helped him quit tobacco forever. He said that he made a promise to God that he wilI never allow that evil of any addiction to enter in his life again. Similarly, when Brahma Kumari brothers and sisters give the message of freeing someone from this addiction, their words will definitely have power which will be respected. When God's messengers give education to people, it will definitely have an impact. The efforts and initiatives by Brahma Kumaris to awaken the public for public welfare are commendable. Many families have been ruined due to this addiction. Even village women take out processions against drugs because they have lost their children to drugs.
Sh. Purohit said that Bhagavad Gita is said to be superior to all the Smritis, Puranas and Vedas because Gita is the teaching emanating from the mouth of God himself and has been dedicated by God for the benefit of mankind. It is a widespread truth that addiction and drugs are increasing and awareness is very important for this. He congratulated the organisation for their services and said that he will always support them in this noble cause.
Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Sushma Didi, who came specially from Mount Abu, in her beautiful statement emphasized on having good intentions always. Always thinking about welfare is virtue. Hate should not be the resolution of any human being. Apart from this, the organization's North Zone Director Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Prem Didi and Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Uttara Didi, Bhai Banarasi Lal Shah, Secretary of the Medical Wing of the organization were also present on the stage and addressed the gathering.
