Nearly 300 students are expected to get trained on TOEFL each month, with ETS training all TOEFL trainers at Canam. This partnership will support the growing number of TOEFL test takers in Punjab. More recently, TOEFL was approved for Canada's Student Direct Stream (SDS), making it a popular English Language Proficiency test in the region.

Speaking on these developments, Rohit Sharma, SVP Higher Education & Work Skills, ETS said "ETS is committed to supporting students in Punjab through its growing network of partners, both institutional & study abroad consultants. TOEFL's 100% acceptance in study abroad destinations such as US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand and its acceptance in over 12,000 institutions across 160 countries, reaffirms its position as the English Proficiency test of choice for Indian students"

He added "We are delighted to have a MoU with Chitkara University, enabling their students to have access to TOEFL and GRE preparatory resources. We also hope that the merit scholarship announced for Chitkara University students by ETS will motivate them to give their best in their academic journey"

ETS has built a strong network of TOEFL Market Ambassadors in the Punjab, with nearly 1000 ambassadors in the region. ETS also operates test centers in Punjab, spread across all major cities of Bathinda, Jalandhar, Patiala, Ludhiana, Amritsar, and Chandigarh.

The enhanced version of TOEFL has been implemented since July 26, 2023, making it the shortest amongst three most popular English Proficiency tests.

For students planning to pursue education in an English-speaking country, TOEFL iBT holds immense significance as it serves as an important piece of their admissions portfolio. It provides an evaluation of English language proficiency and assesses the ability to comprehend English across all communication skills - listening, reading, speaking and writing.
