Ideathon 2K24 held at CGC Jhanjeri, 160 teams from various colleges participated


Mohali: Computer Application Department at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri Campus hosted Ideathon 2K24 in collaboration with Qservices IT Solutions Inc. Mohali .Ideathon 2K24 aimed to unleash the creative potential of students by tasking them with devising solutions to real-world problems within a limited timeframe. With a focus on out-of-the-box thinking, participants were provided with a platform to translate their ideas into actionable plans capable of driving positive change in society.

 

A total of 160 teams from various colleges enthusiastically registered for this event, showcasing their eagerness to engage in meaningful problem-solving. Following a rigorous selection process, 35 teams were chosen to compete in the final round in front of a distinguished jury.

 

Colleges participated in the IDEATHON included Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, CGC Landran, St Joseph's College Of Engineering, G.L. Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Greater Noida, University Institute of Engineering, Chandigarh Engineering College, University institute of engineering and technology, Kathua, Punjabi University Patiala, G. L. Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Vasantdada Patil Prathishthan's College of Engineering and Visual Arts, Manav Rachna International Institute, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology,Chitkara University, and Chandigarh School of Business.

 

The jury panel comprised industry stalwarts Sahil Kataria, Founder, CO-Founder, and CTO of Qservices IT Solutions Inc., Rohit Dabra, CO-Founder, and CTO of Qservices IT Solutions Inc.,  Ankit Tripathi, and  Atul Tripathi, Founders of Uneako. Their expertise and guidance were invaluable in evaluating the innovative ideas presented by the participants.

 

At the end, prizes were awarded to the top-performing teams. 1st cash Prize was of Rs. 10,000, 2nd Prize was Rs. 6,000 and  3rd Prize was  Rs. 4,000. Apart from that winners were honoured with Trophies, medals. Consolation cash Prizes for Five Teams was Rs. 1,000 each.

In Final results Avinash from CGC Landran secured 1st position, whereas Sagar from CGC Jhanjeri got 2nd position. Krish from Manav Rachna International Institute attained the 3rd place. Consolation prizes went to Akshay and Aniket from CGC Jhanjeri, Bharagav Reddy from CMR College of Engineering & Technology, Upender Singh Lakhwan from CGC Landran, and Ikandeep Singh from Punjabi University.

 

Arsh Dhaliwal, M D CGC Jhanjeri said that at CGC Jhanjeri we encourage new and innovative ideas and promote innovative thinking and entrepreneurial mindset in young students such events will be organized in the forthcoming too.
