New Delhi (Global news) A meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) for Ambala District was chaired by Minister of State - Jal Shakti Sh
Rattan Lal kataria through Video Conferencing. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner, Addl Deputy commissioner, Chief Medical Officer along with 32 other officials of various departments. The aim of DISHA meeting is to monitor the progress of various
schemes by enabling better coordination between the elected representatives
in parliament, state legislatures and local government for efficient and time
bound development of districts.
During the meeting, Mr Kataria reviewed the overall preparedness of the
District for carrying out the COVID vaccination drive from 16th January
onwards. Mr kataria informed that 9,500 healthcare workers shall get
vaccinated in the first phase. The vaccination shall be given at 7 centers - one
each at Ambala Cantt, Barara, Mullana, Panjokhra, Shahzadpur,
Chaurmustpur and polyclinic at sector - 10,Ambala. He informed that nearest
warehouse at Kurukshetra has been set up for storage of the vaccine and it
shall be received at the District level Vaccine storage facility on 15th January.
As per protocol, the names of all healthcare workers have already been
uploaded on Covin portal and on January 16th, 100 healthcare workers at
each of these designated Centers are expected to get the first shot.
Thereafter, the district administration plans to cover 9,500 health care
workers in the next 4-5 days. He instructed all the officials to scrupulously
follow the protocols and Operating Procedures in this regard.
Mr Kataria added that the power of Information Technology is being leveraged
to execute the world’s largest vaccination campaign with pin point accuracy.
The information on the portal is tagged with Aadhar number for unique
identification of the beneficiary. Each vaccine Centre shall have one IT official
to verify credentials. After vaccination, the info shall be updated in the central
database. The beneficiary shall be made to wait for 30 mins to check for side-
effects, if any. Each vaccination Centre is attached with an advanced medical
facility to attend to any emergency.
During the meeting, it was apprised that the COVID positive rate for Ambala
district stands at 6.39% with a mortality rate of 1.24% and total deaths 142.
The Cure rate is 96.83%. Out of total 1,80,669 samples sent for investigation,
11,455 have been found to be positive.
Mr kataria reviewed various flagship schemes and directed officials to focus
on public grievance redressal in an efficient and time bound manner. Mr
Kataria congratulated the public health authorities for successfully achieving
the 100% target of providing tap connections to all rural household under the
Jal Jeevan Mission and becoming one of the top 27 Districts in the country to
have achieved “ Har Ghar Jal” Status. He informed that Panchkula and
Kurukshetra from Haryana are other Districts who have achieved this
milestone whereas Yamunanagar is set to follow suit shortly.
He expressed satisfaction over achievement of 97% coverage of 1.92 Lakh
person days out of allocated budget of 1.99 Lakh person days under the
MGNREGA scheme. He informed that the increase in wage from Rs 284 (
2019-20) to Rs 309 (2020-21) has benefitted the poorest and needy.
It was apprised that under the National Rural livelihood Mission, around 2.43
lac face masks and 1340 liters of Sanitizers were marketed with the help of
over 180 Self Help Groups. Mr Kataria lauded the efforts of community
groups for their immense social contribution during the COVID Pandemic.
Under Deen Dayal Upadhyay- Gramin Kaushalya Yojana, a total of 236
persons are being trained and 67 have already been placed after successfully
imparting training. Mr Kataria directed the District administration to prepare an
analysis on the wages received by the beneficiaries after obtaining skill
training under these missions. He urged the administration to arrange for
employment opportunities for trained youth in the local industries in and
around the District.
In his concluding remarks, Mr Kataria urged the officials to be vigilant as
ambala shares borders with Punjab and has actively witnessed the farmers
protest. He added that although the Central Govt. is sensitive towards the
well being of farmers and the Hon’ble Supreme Court has also intervened in
the matter, but the officials need to stay vigilante to negotiate any evolving
circumstances and challenges. He affirmed that farmers are the Annadatas
and forms the backbone of AtmaNirbhar Bharat and the Government shall
ensure that their concerns are addressed
