The Congress manifesto reflects our promises for the betterment of the country:-Kumari Selja


Chandigarh: The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, former President of Haryana Congress, Incharge of Uttarakhand, former Union Minister, and a member of the CWC, Kumari Selja said that the Congress Party's manifesto showcases our promises for the betterment of our country. Through five justice initiatives and 25 guarantees, we promise the best for every Indian. She said that the citizens to come forward with a new resolve to build a new and golden future for India and strengthen the Congress.



In a statement released to the media, Kumari Selja said that Congress has discussed employment, social justice, and democratic values in its election manifesto. The party has promised to protect every citizen's rights, religious freedom, and associated rights without discrimination, and to safeguard federalism. It aims to go beyond elections and voting in defining democracy. Congress has promised one lakh per youth for training regarding employment. It has promised farmers that a law guaranteeing Minimum Support Price (MSP) will be introduced and provisions for debt forgiveness will be made. Upon coming to power, investigations will be conducted into the Electoral Bond Scheme, PM CARES Fund, deals involving the sale of government assets, and defense deals.



Kumari Selja said that one of Congress's major promises in the agriculture sector includes debt forgiveness for farmers and a law guaranteeing the MSP. The manifesto also promises to raise the minimum wage to at least 400 rupees per day. In the realm of social justice, the party has proposed conducting a caste census, eliminating the 50% cap on reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. Kumari Selja said that Congress has promised to start the Mahalaxmi scheme, promising one lakh per year to every poor family, which will be deposited in the eldest woman's bank account of the family. The application fees for government exams will be abolished, and the loan amount for education loans will be forgiven, including interest. Fast track courts will be established to decide on cases of exam paper leaks.
