VC invited representatives of CACTA, before Senate Meet to discuss issues of Private-aided colleges

Chandigarh Aided College Teachers Association (CACTA) today protested outside the Senate Hall of Panjab University and raised the issue of unorganized and haphazard implementation of NEP 2020 in an undemocratic and dictatorial way. The representatives of CACTA, met the PU authorities and handed over the memorandum regarding the keeping of the stake holders from colleges alienated and in dark, in drafting and imposition of changes in curriculum. The NEP is being imposed on colleges in an unplanned and hurried manner which will create an unprecedented crisis for the colleges and teaching fraternity. The Vice Chancellor and Registrar, paid a decent hearing to the representatives of CACTA and assured that they will not incorporate or impose any decisions which may prove to be detrimental for the colleges. Dr. Kulvinder, President, CACTA and Dr. Amitabh, Secretary, said that they will not allow any dictatorial changes, under the garb of NEP which may harm the private-aided colleges and their teachers. They said the authorities acknowledged their concerns and assured them for the due consideration of their issues on priority.

Dr. Sumit Goklaney, President DAVCTU, said that they have asked the PU authorities to seriously consider their issues and concerns, and take the stake holders from colleges into confidence while drafting the rules and implementing the same in the private colleges. He added that CACTA, will not tolerate the biased approach of PU authorities against aided-colleges and will continue to track the developments regarding the implementation pattern of NEP in colleges.
