  • After denying compensation to farmers, CM sprinkling salt on their wounds by not lifting the wheat crop from Mandis – Sukhbir S Badal

Muktsar: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said after denying compensation to farmers, chief minister Bhagwant Mann was sprinkling salt on their wounds by not lifting their hard earned wheat produce resulting in complete clogging of all grain markets in the State. Mr Sukhbir Badal, who visited the Mahuana and Malout grain markets in this district, witnessed firsthand how farmers are being harassed. He also interacted with farmers and assured them that in case lifting of wheat was not started from ‘mandis’ the SAD would agitate to ensure justice was done to them. In a frontal attack on chief minister Bhagwant Mann, the SAD president said it was shocking that while farmers were suffering in the grain markets, the chief minister was visiting Assam and Gujarat. “Earlier also when Punjab was hit by floods last year, the chief minister chose to abrogate his responsibilities and run away to facilitate Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convener Arvind Kejriwal’s visits to other States”. Asserting that farmers had been dealt a double blow, Mr Badal said “farmers are already reeling from non-payment of compensation for damage to wheat during hail storms earlier. Now when they have brought their harvest to the market they are facing difficulties in getting in procured”. Mr Badal said the AAP government had ruined the agricultural economy of the State during the last two years. “Farmers are yet to receive compensation for crops damaged due to flooding or hail storms. The chief minister reneged on his promise to ensure advance relief of Rs 25,000 per acre to farmers for crop relief. The AAP government also failed to procure pulses and maize crops despite tall promises that they would be procured in entirety”. Urging the peasantry to teach a befitting lesson to the anti-farmer AAP government which had also colluded with the Haryana government to suppress the ongoing farmer agitation, Mr Badal said “I appeal to Punjabis to seal the borders of Punjab with their votes to ensure Delhi based parties are not able to capture their mandate and betray them again”.

Amritsar: While campaigning in Amritsar, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann praised the Majha region and said that when the people of Majha make up their minds about something, they do not and cannot be swayed and this time the people here have made up their mind to make the Aam Aadmi Party win. On Thursday evening, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann did a road show in Amritsar in favour of AAP candidate Kuldeep Dhaliwal and appealed to the people to make Dhaliwal win. He said that Amritsar is the city of Gurus. Therefore, when the results of the Lok Sabha elections will come on June 4, the first trend of Aam Aadmi Party's victory should come from here. Mann praised Kuldeep Dhaliwal's work and said that Dhaliwal is a very experienced leader. He has experience of working in the Vidhan Sabha and as a minister. He also knows how to deal with officers and how to get work done. Elect him as your MP. His experience will be useful for the development of Amritsar. He said that Kuldeep Dhaliwal did a lot of amazing work while being the Panchayati Raj Minister in the Punjab Government. He got more than 10 thousand acres of Panchayati land released from the big influential people of Punjab, from which Punjab got benefits of thousands of crores. During the speech, Mann attacked the BJP and said that according to the report of the first phase of elections, BJP is getting only 25 to 30 seats. That is why their slogan of crossing 400 has vanished now. Now they are afraid of defeat. Mann said that this election is not just about victory and defeat. This is an election to save the Constitution and democracy of India.  BJP is trying to destroy India's democracy and constitution and if they win this time, they will impose dictatorship like Russian President Vladimir Putin in India. They will change the Indian constitution and make such a law that only Modi will remain in power in some form or the other in the country. That is why it is very important to defeat the BJP this time. Mann strongly condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Mangalsutra and communal statements and said that it is a matter of great shame for the country that after ruling for 10 years, Prime Minister Modi is asking for votes in the name of Mangalsutra. He said that the BJP does politics of hatred and polarisation. It wants to get votes by making people fight in the name of caste and religion. On the other hand, we are asking for votes from the people on the basis of our work. We are asking for votes in the name of government schools, hospitals, employment, electricity, water and other civic amenities. Mann said that the people of Punjab will never let the politics of hatred win. This time people will reject the BJP's politics of hatred through their votes and will make their candidates lose their deposit in all 13 seats. Dhaliwal assured Mann - The people of Amritsar will not let you down and will help AAP win by 13-0 During the road show, AAP candidate from Amritsar Kuldeep Dhaliwal assured Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of victory and said that the people of Amritsar will not let you down. The people here will make the Aam Aadmi Party win by a huge margin and will help AAP win Punjab by 13-0. He asked the people to give them a chance to reach Parliament. We will raise the voice of Amritsar and Punjab in Parliament and fight for the rights of Punjab.

BJP is collecting thousands of crores of rupees in the form of donations by conducting raids on various companies by agencies. The people of the country have now come to know about these wrongdoings of BJP, hence its defeat in the Lok Sabha elections is certain. In a statement released from the party office on Wednesday, the AAP leader and spokesperson Neel Garg said that the Mann government will be here, working stronger than before, after the June 1st, but he's not sure Charanjit Channi will be able to show his face after the result of the Lok Sabha polls. Garg said that Charanjit Singh Channi is at the end of the road, he was already utterly rejected by the people of Punjab in the last assembly elections and people saw the piles of cash that ED recovered from his nephew, so his corruption is not hidden from anyone. The AAP leader said that Charanjit Channi is misleading the people of Punjab and Jalandhar, he has nothing to say to the people, no clarification about the corruption and scams during his government, so he's making up all these things to secure some votes. Neel Garg said that they (AAP MLAs) are soldiers of revolutionary leader Arvind Kejriwal, and even the Operation Lotus failed to sway them in any wrong direction. He said that the people of Punjab gave the Mann government the biggest mandate in Punjab and we have the utmost respect for the decision of the public. He said that the Mann government will be in power after June 1st, but Channi will definitely be going to the jail in the near future as his corruption and scams will be exposed.
